International EarthCache Day 2013

29 Jul

ImageMark your calendars, it’s almost that time of year again! Every year there is a special event know as International EarthCache day, this year it just so happens to be held on October 13th 2013, in honor of Earth Science Week.

EarthCaches teach us all about our favorite place to geocache – earth. An EarthCache takes adventurers to a unique site showcasing geological features like a century old cave, or rare rock formations. Simply discover and log an EarthCache, or attend an EarthCache Event, to take part in the worldwide movement. These types of caches can help the adventurer learn how odd rocks were formed, or to teach about plate tectonics, and so much more!

There are more than 14,000 active EarthCaches around the world. Comment below and let me know how you plan to spend your EarthCache day! I am organizing an event here in South Korea, where all the geocachers in the country meetup at the Onyang Hot Springs!
